Lendrick Muir Activity – the Nightline

If you go down to the woods today, it’s not a teddy bears picnic you’ll see, but you might find the ropes, tyres, tunnels and nets for a Lendrick Muir Activity!

Lendrick Muir Activity. Boy wearing a blindfold is holding on to a rope with his left hand while stretching his right hand out to feel his way through an obstacle course in the woods.

Nightline Activity Course

Our Lendrick Muir Activity Team have been busy overhauling the Nightline course. This outdoor activity is an obstacle course with a difference. Participants are blindfolded and must make their way around the course without letting go of the guide rope.

This exciting, challenging and giggle-filled Activity is great for encouraging teamwork, trust-building and enhancing communication skills.

Participants must climb over obstacles, crawl through tunnels, push through nets and wind through webs to make it from one end of the course to the other. You can complete the course as an individual or as a team. If you are running it as a Self-Led Activity, Lendrick Muir Activity team provide group leaders with an instruction manual that’s full of games and challenges that can be used around the course.

Team Game: Robot Test Walk

This blindfolded game works well early on in a session as an introduction or an icebreaker.

  1. Separate the group into pairs. One person is the blindfolded Robot, the other is the sighted Mechanic.
  2. The Mechanic takes the Robot on a test walk. Communication between the Robot and the Mechanic can only be made with one finger and/or verbally only.
  3. The sighted Mechanic is there to provide safety and creative instructions, e.g. walk 10 steps in a straight line, sit down, stand up, jump etc.
