Pray for Lendrick Muir

We recently had a prayer walk around Lendrick Muir.  It was encouraging to us as a staff team to see so many people attend.  We appreciate however, that it is not possible for everyone to come to these kinds of events. So we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some ways that you can pray for the work at Lendrick Muir.   Prayer is at the foundation of everything we do at Lendrick Muir and as a staff team we start each day by putting God first by reading the Bible and praying for the needs of team and those visiting the centre.

The work of Lendrick Muir is based around five priorities which helps us becoming the best centre we can possibly be. They act as great starting points for prayer.

1. Pray for improvements to the facilities

We are constantly working to improve the facilities at Lendrick Muir.  This has recently included things like refurbishing showers and toilets and re-pressurising the water system.  We are currently in the process of redoing our low ropes course, creating a new drying room and re-purposing the area which is currently a drying room into an activities base.

Please pray for FUNDS to come in so we can continue to improve the facilities but also wisdom in deciding how to prioritise the work.  Not only this. Pray for safety as these projects are completed.

2. Pray for growth in the bookings

We are thankful to God for the continued growth in bookings which has enabled us to make important improvements to the centre.  As a result of this, we recently launched a winter residential programme promoting the benefits of coming on a winter residential.

Please pray that schools would get on-board with this new opportunity and start booking in.  Please also pray for a continued growth for weekend bookings.

There has been the recent news that Soul Survivor will be disbanding after 2019, as they believe that God is calling this ministry to an end.  It will be sad to see the end of this ministry. However, we understand it is important to follow God’s leading.  By 2019, Soul Survivor will have been running 26 years!

Please pray that there is wisdom in how Lendrick Muir can fill the gap that is created as a result, beyond 2019.

3. Pray for great guest service

It is enormously important to us as a centre that we give the best guest service possible.  It is such a privilege to have Lendrick Muir and extremely satisfying to see the centre used by so many different people and ministries.  As a Christian team we hope our witness enables them to see Jesus working through us.

Please pray this happens.

We have recently introduced new Christian books into each unit to allow people to explore and ask questions about Christian faith.

Please pray that these resources provide a starting point for discussions.

We would love to see children who come on school residentials return during our camp season in the Easter and Summer holidays.

Please pray for wisdom in how to promote camps to school groups.

4. Pray for the team

With the excitement of being busy comes its challenges and the team (staff and volunteers) often begin to flag at this point. There has also been a lot of sickness within the family members of the team.

Please pray for energy levels of the team and their families.

Many of you will know Colin and Sylvia, who work at Lendrick Muir.  They are starting an exciting new adventure heading up our new SU Scotland centre, GOWANBANK.

Please pray for them as they start this new journey with all the practicalities that is involved in moving to a new area.

There are a number of vacancies at Lendrick Muir – Centre Director, Centre Support Workers, a Trainee Instructor, a Senior Instructor and an Office Assistant.

Please pray these vacancies are filled quickly with people who fit naturally into the Lendrick Muir team and its work.

As many of the posts within the Lendrick Muir team are trainee positions (usually 2 year post), there are frequently new members joining the team.

Please pray for unity within the Lendrick Muir staff team as new members join and others move on especially as the centre gets busier.

5. Pray for the spiritual growth of the team

As a team we have been challenged to develop and grow spiritually both individually and as a team.  We have recently read through the book ‘Lead like Jesus’ which has encouraged us to do just that!

Please pray that the team would grow closer to God and support each other in our Christian journey.  Pray that we would have opportunities to witness to our guests and tell our stories.  Please also pray for blessed times of meeting with God during our morning staff devotionals.
