A Year of Challenge and Cheer

Greetings from Lendrick Muir

Marek, Centre Director | 2023 end of year round up

Every year brings its ups and downs at Lendrick Muir Residential Outdoor Activity Centre, but God is faithful through it all and we've so much to give thanks for this year.

2023 has been a very busy year for Lendrick Muir. Across our 245 bookings, we've welcomed over 9,000 guests into the centre, and that doesn't even include the 1036 delegates that were with us for Magnitude in July!

The spring term was busy with School Residential bookings and we were excited to welcome record high numbers to Magnitude in the summer, with 55 young people committing their lives to Jesus!

As well as some major changes to the building, we've been rebuilding our team. We're so blessed to have been joined by 16 new team this year!  We're also so thankful for the 22 volunteers that join us regularly over the year. We couldn't operate without them. If you'd like to volunteer with us (especially with our House team), please get in touch. Also, keep an eye on the SU Scotland Jobs page for new opportunities to join the team.

Watch the video below if you need some encouragement to get involved!

Despite the financial pressures this year, with our electricity bills more than doubling, we have still managed to invest in Lendrick Muir facilities.

In the Sports Hall alone, we've installed a new indoor climbing wall, added new flooring, improved the heating and sound and most recently, installed tiered seating.

We've also made improvements to our outdoor activities. We've added the Gladiator Challenge to our High Ropes Course and Octoball and Square in the Air to our list of Self-Led Activities.

And we're really pleased to have been able to add new commercial ovens to all 3 of our kitchens - something our Catering Team and volunteer cooks are very excited about.

None of these additions and improvements would have been possible without the financial giving and prayers of our amazing supporters and the provision of our generous Lord. We have much to be thankful for.

The Lord is good and he is blessing us abundantly!

SU Scotland's vision...

To see every child and young person in Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.

As part of the wider SU Scotland family, we've seen some fantastic changes this year, like the launch of the brand new teams Ministry at the Margins and Digital Ministry .

Ministry at the Margins SU Scotland recognise God's keen concern for those at the margins. We are committed to partnering with others for effective ministry with children and young people whose life experience can mean fewer choices, resources and opportunities. Children and young people across Scotland experience life at the margins for a variety of reasons. SU Scotland are bringing a focus onto priority communities, priority schools and priority young people, considering how we may remove or reduce barriers to young people engaging in SU Scotland ministry, and how we may partner with churches and others working with priority children and young people.

Digital Ministry At SU Scotland our vision is to see every child and young person exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus, and a core strategy focus is on Digital ministry: creating content and events to reach and connect with children and young people where they are, all year round.

If you're interested in getting involved with our Digital Ministry, please get in touch with Our Digital Youth Work Lead, Andrew

I hope that you are going to have a very blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
