How does it feel on the high ropes?5 February 2016
What Wendy said…16 March 2016
As a youth worker I was looking for a centre where we could do our own thing … somewhere to play hide and seek in the dark (it’s a firm favourite of ours) and somewhere we could get into the Bible and build relationships.
Lendrick Muir did all this and more!
We wanted to keep the costs down, so we went self -catered and brought our own cooks with us. We used the Ochil unit which gave us lots of flexibility and we were able to organise the sleeping accommodation with boys on one floor and girls on the other, which gave us an opportunity for some great small group dorm discussions.
We had a couple of centre-led ACTIVITIES on the Saturday which the young folks enjoyed, and we used lots of the self-led activities during our weekend as well as creating our own wide game in the vast grounds.
I think if you were to ask any of the young people what our favourite part of the weekend was they would say the campfire – we had a moving time of worship, testimony and prayer and really felt the tangible presence of God.
I’m sure we could have got this in many other centres across Scotland but for us we found Lendrick Muir to have the right combination of …
….LOCATION (very easy and not too long a journey – no need to hire a bus we had parents do drop off and pick up and we organised it so one did one way and others did the return),
…FACILITIES – we didn’t need sleeping bags or bedding which really cut down on luggage!
…Price – we managed to do the whole weekend for under £50 per person
… Experience – we had a great time and staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
